Benoît Jacquot writes and directs this French drama starring Benoît Poelvoorde and Charlotte Gainsbourg. When the paths of two unsettled people, Marc and Sylvie (Poelvoorde and Gainsbourg), cross one night in Paris, they arrange to rendezvous at the Jardin des Tuileries later than week. Marc is delayed after suffering a heart attack on his way and misses their meeting, but Sylvie, left waiting alone on a bench, convinces herself he has simply changed his mind. As the two continue on with their lives as if they had never met, Sylvie moves away to America and Marc meets and falls in love with Sophie (Chiara Mastroianni), an antiques dealer who immediately captures his attention. When Marc goes home to meet Sophie's parents however, he is in for a surprise as he notices a familiar face in the family portrait.
