A Day In The Death Of Joe Egg (UK-import)
Comedy drama directed by Peter Medak and adapted by Peter Nichols from his own play which explores the far extremes of black comedy. Bri (Alan Bates) and Sheila (Janet Suzman) are a Bristol couple who cope with the tragic predicament of their severely disabled daughter Jo (Elizabeth Robillard) by trying to make light of the situation, and even involving Jo in their jokes. But while Sheila clings to the distant hope that Jo's condition might improve, Bri wants to see her institutionalised and begins to entertain fantasies of euthanasia.
