A vocal quintet from Philadelphia featuring four guys and a girl, THE MAJORS originally formed in 1959 as The Versatiles, cutting just one 45 before being obliged to break up when Uncle Sam came a-knocking for the boys. They reformed in 1962, as The Majors, with the same line-up; lead singer Ricky Cordo, with his unique, instantly-identifiable, soaring tenor, plus Ron Gathers, Gene Glass, Frank Troutt and Idella Morris. After linking up with producer Jerry Ragovoy they charted with three genuinely great records, 'A Wonderful Dream', 'She's A Troublemaker' and 'A Little Bit Now', which are included herein in both mono 45rpm and stereo LP versions.
