After Life (1998) (UK-import)
Kore-eda Hirokazu, director of the acclaimed 1996 film 'Maborosi', returns with this meditation on happiness and memory. Arriving in Limbo, a way-station where the dead are invited to select which memory they wish to take with them into the afterlife, the newly dead are met by the staff who will help them chose. Over the following week, the recently-deceased think back over their lives, looking for the moment in which they were most happy.
