Andrea Chenier: The Royal Opera Covent Garden (Rudel) (UK-import)
Umberto Giordano's opera is brought to the Royal Opera House by Michael Hampe, with Placido Domingo, and Anna Tomowa-Sintow heading the cast. Chénier is a French revolutionary poet who pines for the beautiful Maddalena. However, he has a jealous rival in the form of servant-turned-revolutionary Gérard, who sets about plotting Chénier's downfall.
