Deliciuos pop and heartbreaking folky songs with a touch of blues, spoken word and cabaret- all dressed in crispy guitars and delicate synth sounds. With poignant presence and naked lyrics Fia Ekberg tells her story. This is everyday realism and magnificent longing that falls together freely, without safety nets. Life lived from Bangatan, a stone’s throw from Stigbergstorget, Majorna- Göteborg is the inspiration for singer/songwriter Fia Ekberg’s first full-length album. This album is filled with personal tales about loving, growing older and existing, about having the courage to search for love again, the urge to live at a painfully full extent. About being a parent - feeling small and powerless. Being so angry that you want to fight, and still long for reconciliation and belonging. The foundation of this album is recorded in Fia’s livingroom and kitchen, in the centre of events juggling the roles of being a mother of teenagers as well as the role of a creative artist. Among the musical references you find traces of Swedish artists such as Eva Dahlgren, Peter Le Marc and Ted Gärdestad. But uttermost, the trace is made by Fia Ekberg herself. A “mid-life record” like a gentle, groovy dance at night in Majorna. Fia Ekberg transformed from being a musical theatre artist to a poetic singer/songwriter. She performs solo or as one of the members in the trio My Quiet Companion. 2013 she released her first solo- EP All The Small Details, and since then she has toured in Sweden, the USA, Denmark, Germany, Ireland and Greenland. In 2015 My Quiet Companion released their first album and also toured with shows such as Hungriga hjärtan - Springsteen på vårt sätt and 80-talsbarn. Now, eight years later, it’s time for Fia’s first full length solo-album, in Swedish. Patrick Rydman is her producer, co-creator/musician, and a few more musical guests appear to give spark and deepen the sound of Fia Ekberg’s stories.
