Russian drama co-written and directed by Kantemir Balagov. Set in post-war Leningrad in 1945, the film follows Iya Sergueeva aka Beanpole (Viktoria Miroshnichenko) as she struggles with PTSD while working as a nurse in a veterans hospital in the immediate aftermath of the Second World War. Reunited with her lover, returning solider Masha (Vasilisa Perelygina), Iya cares for her young son Pashka (Timofey Glazkov) and attempts to rebuild her life.
