Beethoven: Piano Concertos No. 0 -No. 2-No. 6
Sophie-Mayuko Vetter presents us here a world-premiere recording: Nicholas Cook & Hermann Dechant reconstructed and completed the preserved about 70 pages of sketchesof the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 6 in D major (fragment). Another special feature of this release: the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra ‘No. 0’ in E-flat major, WoO 4can really be heard in period garb, on a fortepiano made by the London piano manufacturer John Broadwood in 1806. And the Concerto in B-flat major No. 2 op. 19 impressively demonstrates young Beethoven’s development to the autonomous Viennese Classicist with an expressive and harmonically rich diction.
