Beethoven/Beethoven's 2nd/Beethoven's 3rd (UK-import)
Triple bill featuring the first three films in the 'Beethoven' cycle. In 'Beethoven' (1992) a small St Bernard puppy named Beethoven finds refuge from animal experimenter Dr Varnick in the tidy household of George Newton (Charles Grodin). There Beethoven grows very big and causes near chaos. Meanwhile Dr Varnick thinks Beethoven an ideal subject on which to test some new ammunition. 'Beethoven's 2nd' (1993) has George appalled to discover that Beethoven has had some babies with a lovely lady St Bernard named Missy. The lovestruck couple have produced four lovable pups - Tchaikovsky, Chubby, Dolly and Mo - and the Newton family take to them immediately. But problems arise when Missy's evil owner, Regina (Debi Mazar), decides to use the dogs as pawns in one of her wretched schemes. 'Beethoven's 3rd' (1999) finds the Newton family on their way to a family re-union, a prospect which bores them all rigid. But when the lovable Beethoven joins the expedition and starts causing all manner of calamities, the family's dull weekend away begins to turn into an exciting adventure.
