Moddi, the moniker of 34-year-old Pål Moddi Knudsen from Northern Norway, was an activist before he was a songwriter. This is unmistakably evident in his previous project "Unsongs" - a collection of banned songs across the world. Moddi continues to defend and advocate for the most important and relevant issues that we’re faced with today with the resonate "Like In 1968" and upcoming album "Bråtebrann". First single from the upcoming album, "Omnan Går", was released August 13, now followed by the second single "Bråtebrann" to be released together with an album announcement on October 15. The album "Bråtebrann" will be released March 2022, and tells the story about a homecoming to a town that you once knew, but has turned into something unfamiliar. The forthcoming album is in many ways a backlash to Moddi’s Norwegian Grammy winning album "Kæm Va Du?", moving away from the nostalgic narrative of the well-known Northern Norway. The theme of the album "Bråtebrann '' is the new, emerging Northern Norway, which according to Moddi has yet to be written songs about. Moddi has been on tour in Norway and Europe during the summer and autumn, visiting 15 different venues in the UK and Germany. The ongoing tour across Europe has gotten a lot of press coverage in his home country since he travels only by train and bus. Moddi’s forthcoming album follows the internationally praised album "Unsongs", which was celebrated by the likes of The Guardian, The Sunday Times, USA Today, BBC World Service, The Independent, Metro and GQ. The album was just as well received at radio, with support from BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio 2, Radio X and Absolute Radio. Moddi has gathered over 27 million streams in total on his catalogue across all DSPs and has received Norwegian Grammys four times for different releases.
