Before novelty shop worker Max (Yelchin) can muster the courage to break-up with his irritating girlfriend Evelyn (Greene), she is involved in a freak accident and hit by a bus. After a short period of mourning, Max begins a relationship with attractive ice-cream seller Olivia (Alexandra Daddario), only for Evelyn to reappear on his doorstep as a zombie.
