Recorded live at the Palais Garnier in Paris in April 2008, this performance of Prokofiev's Cinderella by the Paris Opera Ballet follows Rudolf Nureyev's colourful 'movie-star' version of the classic Perrault fairy tale, which transposes the tale to America during the Great Depression of the 1930s and 1940s. Agnes Letestu stars as Cinderella who dreams of escaping her mundane existence and achieving stardom in Hollywood. Koen Kessels conducts the Paris Opera Orchestra; Jose Martinez, Laetitia Pujol, Stephanie Romberg, Stephane Phavorin and Wilfried Romoli dance the supporting roles.
