Closed Curtain (UK-import)
(Language: Persian) Jafar Panahi co-directs, writes and produces this Iranian drama. The story follows an unnamed screenwriter (Kambuzia Partovi) who lives in his blacked-out three-storey villa on the Caspian Sea with just his dog for company. During a thunderstorm, the writer's quiet existence is disturbed by the unwanted arrival of siblings Melika (Maryam Moqadam) and Reza (Hadi Saeedi), who are looking to hide out from the police. Although their presence makes him uneasy, the writer relents to their pleas and lets the suicidal Melika stay after her brother leaves to look for a car. As the writer becomes increasingly paranoid he is further disturbed by more unannounced visitors to his home.
