Colin Scot (Remastered & Expanded)
Esoteric Recordings Are Pleased To Announce A Newly Remastered Expanded Edition Of This Wonderful Album From 1971 By Singer-Songwriter COLIN SCOT. Colin Scot (Real Name Colin Thistlewaite) Was An Innovative Song-Writer Who Began His Career Playing The London Folk Clubs. He Came To The Attention Of United Artists Records In 1970 And Recorded His Only Album For The Label In Early 1971 At Trident Studios With Producer John Anthony Which Many Years Later Was Rightly Described By Record Collector Magazine As "A Genuine Lost Classic". It Is Perhaps Widely Known From Featuring An Impressive Cast Of Guest Musicians Who Participated In The Recording Sessions, All Of Whom Appreciated Scot's Talent As A Musician. Featuring ROBERT FRIPP, RICK WAKEMAN, JON ANDERSON, PETER GABRIEL, PHIL COLLINS, DAVEY JOHNSTONE, LINDA HOYLE And Members Of VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR, LINDISFARNE And RARE BIRD, COLIN SCOT Contained Some Fine And Beautiful Music Such As The Exquisite "Take Me Away", "Do The Dance Now, Davey" And "The Boatman" Along With The Magnificent "Nite People". Although A Fine Debut, In One Of The Great Injustices Of Fate The Album Did Not Achieve The Commercial Success It Most Certainly Deserved. Scot Departed United Artists In 1972. He Signed To Warner Bros. In 1973 And Recorded A Further Two Albums, But Commercial Success Still Eluded Him And Scot Concentrated On Performing In Folk Clubs In The UK And Europe, Settling In Amsterdam. He Sadly Passed Away In 1999. This New Esoteric Recordings Edition Has Been Newly Re-Mastered From The Original Master Tapes And Features Four Bonus Tracks Including Three Alternate Takes And A Song Omitted From The Final Completed Album.
