The Collectors represents the Canadian psychedelic movement. Behind the fantastic artwork of this self-titled album hides one of the true forgotten gems of this country. The 19+ minutes counting “What Love” is one of the earliest prog epics. The superb song-writing and intelligent use of unusual chord progressions are just brilliant on this record. The band had a remarkable emotional range and sensitivity in this album. It’s not only as the title suggests an Collectors item, but one that must be included in every psych and prog collection.
