French drama written and directed by Christian Vincent. The film follows recently divorced French criminal court judge Michel Racine (Fabrice Luchini), a man famed for his ruthless reputation, as he presides over the complex case of a man accused of killing his young child. However, Michel's sullen outlook on life suddenly changes when he is reunited with long-lost love Ditte (Sidse Babett Knudsen) after she is selected to sit as a juror in the trial.
