Deliver Us From Evil (UK-import)
Danish thriller in which a man returns to his hometown only to find himself face-to-face with its xenophobia and intolerance. Johannes (Lasse Rimmer) relocates his wife and two young children to the rural town of his youth in the belief that it will provide a better lifestyle for them than the bustle of the city. However, while absence from the town may have developed his fondness for the quietness of country life, it may have caused him to forget the more negative elements of the area. These are brought home to him when his brother, Lars (Jens Andersen), kills a local woman in a drink driving incident and proceeds to pin the blame on a Bosnian refugee who lives in the town. Aware of the Bosnian's innocence, Johannes comes to his defence and quickly finds out how dangerous life in the town can be for those who refuse to conform to its stereotypes...
