This nostalgic drama marked the screen debut of writer and director Barry Levinson. The story unfolds in 1950's Baltimore. A group of disenchanted twentysomethings spend their days in a local diner, talking away their problems. Eddie (Steve Guttengerg) is reluctant to marry his fiancée, Shrevie (Daniel Stern) prefers to spend his time with his friends than his wife (Ellen Barkin). Billy (Timothy Daly) has a pregnant girlfriend who won't marry him, Fenwick (Kevin Bacon) is smart but always drunk, and Boogie (Mickey Rourke) is an anarchic hairdresser with an eye for the ladies.
