When Frank Morrison's (John Travolta) ex-wife Susan (Teri Polo) announces her up-coming marriage to businessman Rick Barnes (Vince Vaughn), he is at first perturbed, but soon accepts that a more stable home-life will be good for their delinquent son Danny (Matt O'Leary). After the wedding, Danny becomes increasingly suspicious of his new stepfather, and one night sees him murder an old business associate. Danny then tells Frank about the crime, paving the way for a final violent confrontation between his two fathers.
