Danny Wayland "England Dan" Seals, (the younger brother of Jim Seals of the 1970s soft rock duo Seals & Crofts) and John Edward "John Ford" Coley, were active throughout the 1970s. Their second album 'Dowdy Ferry Road' is a beautiful album, full of enchanting melodic songs which yielded two single hits, "It's Sad To Belong" and "Gone Too Far". There is the stripped down acoustic ballad "Don't Feel That Way No More", with just a touch of country and "Soldier In The Rain" is a really ambitious piano ballad, with a progressive middle eight instrumental section. They are all ballads, except for the first track "Dowdy Ferry Road", which is really catchy and some nice guitar work.
