Ensemble Luci Mie Traditrici: Ensemble Algoritmo (Angius)
Croatian mezzo-soprano Nina Tarandek leads the cast in this performance of Salvatore Sciarrino's opera of love and death, recorded at the Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte di Montepulciano in August, 2010. Based on madrigalist Carlo Gesualdo's notorious murder of his wife and her lover in 1590, the opera's music is avant-garde in tone, incorporating extended playing techniques, silences, and isolated resonances. Other cast members include Roland Schneider, Simon Bode and Christian Miedl.
