This box set of 7 CDs and one DVD represents an invaluable cross-section of his output from 1928 through to 1974 and represents an indispensable piece of jazz history. The collection features solo sessions from throughout his career, 1948 radio broadcasts with Louis Armstrong, live recordings from the Club Hangover in San Francisco and many more tracks from the 1950s. On the DVD is 1970 footage of solo piano and vocal.
