A film celebrating the 80th birthday of the American modern/avant-garde composer. Alongside interviews with George Crumb, the film features complete performances of 'Apparition' (1979) on texts by Walt Whitman, 'Three Early Songs' (1947) and 'Eine Kleine Mitternachtmusik' (2001) on Thelonious Monk's 'Round Midnight'. The soundtrack also features many of Crumbs best known works, including 'Star-Child' and 'Music for a Summer Evening'.
