Latest instalment of the science fiction anime series that follows on from the 2015 feature 'Arise'. After the assassination of the Prime Minister of Japan threatens to spark a war across the globe, it is left to Public Security Section 9 and its leader Major Motoko Kusanagi (voice of Maaya Sakamoto) to find the killer and the true motive of the murder.
