Charlton Heston stars as submarine commander Paul Blanchard in this tense tale of underwater disaster. An off-shore collision with a Norwegian cargo ship causes Blanchard's submarine to lose all power and drift silently to the bottom of the ocean. Lead by Captain Gates (David Carradine), the US Navy mounts a rescue mission, but with air supplies rapidly dwindling, it's going to be a race against time.
