Vol. 98 of the Heidegger Gesamtausgabe 'Anmerkungen VI-IX' continues the publication of Heidegger's 'Black Notebooks'. The notations made between 1948-49 and 1951 still occasionally comment on political and social phenomena of the post-war German period, but increasingly refer to a 'thinking of beyng kd,' (kd = crossed out) which Heidegger intends to develop beyond philosophy. Important themes of Heidegger's late philosophy as well as the question of the 'Gestell' ('framework') are developed. Also, traces of the reunion with Hannah Arendt can be detected. The wealth of new formulations and the exploration of hitherto unknown pathways in thought contained in this volume grant an insight into the creativity of this unique philosopher.
