German/Swiss adaptation of Johanna Spyri's children's novel. The story follows young orphan Heidi (Anuk Steffen) who lives in the Swiss Alps under the guardianship of her grandfather (Bruno Ganz). She finds herself on an adventure when she is whisked away to become the companion of a wealthy girl.
