Cold War adventure drama directed by Sam Fuller and starring Richard Widmark as former U.S. Navy submarine commander Adam Jones, recruited by a mysterious team of scientists to disrupt Chinese efforts to build an atomic plant in the Arctic. Jones sets off to scout the location with a crew of ex-servicemen, including Professor Denise Gerard (Bella Darvi), but as the voyage progresses they attract the attention of enemy submarines and Jones soon discovers that there's more to the mission than he had previously known about.
