High School Fantasies (1974)
Freddie is the school nerd and can’t seem to score a date with any of the girls, let alone with heartthrob Mary-lou (Rene Bond, Frankie & Johnnie Were Lovers) who would rather go out with class clown and bad boy Buddy (Rick Lutze, Taxi Girls), who himself is more interested in playing practical jokes with his best friend, Moose, but their ‘harmless’ pranks only get them into perpetual trouble with their stern teacher, who has her own special way of dishing out corporal punishment. With senior prom around the corner, Freddie decides that he needs to get a date with Mary-lou, and becomes determined to win her affection at any cost. The first hardcore feature directed by exploitation filmmaking demigod, James Bryan (Don’t Go in the Woods, The Executioner Pt. 2), HIGH SCHOOL FANTASIES is a fun, fast paced, and loving tribute to late 50s/early 60s Americana that’s geared as much towards the drive-in circuit as it is the raincoat crowd. Featuring an original rock soundtrack and extensive period detailing, Vinegar Syndrome is proud to offer HIGH SCHOOL FANTASIES on disc for the very first time and newly restored from its original 35mm camera negative.
