Klaas de Vries's 'Providence' inspired by Resnais's 1977 movie is about recollection, prediction, expectation and fulfillment. It is conducted by David Robertson. Susanna Mälkki conducts two world premieres, especially written for the round concert hall of the Westergasfabriek, a former gas factory: 'Circle Map' by Kaija Saariaho and 'Antarctique' by RCO house composer Richard Rijnvos.
