‘Invisible Cities’ is the fourth album by contemporary classical group A Winged Victory for the Sullen. The genesis of this music comes from when the duo of Adam Wiltzie (Stars of the Lid) and pianist/composer Dustin O'Halloran were commissioned to soundtrack Leo Warner’s stage adaptation of Italo Calvino’s 1972 novel ‘Invisible Cities’. What resulted was a collection of soundscapes built on ambient, drone and choral music that are at once between utterly beautiful and tensely foreboding.
