Josh Mond writes and directs this drama starring Christopher Abbott and Cynthia Nixon. James White (Abbott) is a selfish, unemployed waster in his 20s, living in New York City and succeeding in not growing up, instead occuping himself with alcohol, drugs and random hook-ups. When his father dies suddenly, James struggles with the news and flees to Mexico to come to terms with the loss. His recuperation is interrupted by the news that his mother Gail (Nixon), who has been suffering with cancer, is much more ill than he realised.
