Biography of the youngest ever Formula One world champion, Britain's own Lewis Hamilton. Starting out on the karting circuits at the age of eight, Lewis was later spotted by McLaren Mercedes boss Ron Dennis, and offered a place on the McLaren driver development programme in 1998. In his first Formula One season in 2007, Hamilton finished second overall, going one better the following season, to become the first British driver since Damon Hill in 1996 to lift the coveted prize.
