For a musician as important and indeed prolific as Ernie Freeman, remarkably little of his enormous body of work has been made available during the CD era. Across this excellent set are 32 of his many 45s including 7 hits which made the US charts "Lost Dreams", "Dumplin's", "Raunchy", "Indian Love Call", "Swamp Meeting", "The Twist" and "The Dark from the Top of the Stairs". As well as a recording artist Ernie was also an arranger and during the 1950s and well in to the 60s he was the most in demand arranger in Hollywood for R&B,; rock and roll and pop. In 1969 he arranged Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" for which he won a Grammy. Fans of rock and roll instrumentals, loungecore and space age pop will find plenty to get excited in this long overdue CD. Includes fully detailed liner notes.
