Russian drama directed by Andrey Zvyagintsev. The film follows unhappy couple Boris (Aleksey Rozin) and Zhenya (Maryana Spivak) as they prepare for their impending divorce. Despite both already having new partners, the pair continue to share their small Moscow apartment with their 12-year-old son Alyosha (Matvey Novikov) while they wait for the paperwork to be finalised. Left devastated by his parent's constant fighting, Alyosha makes an already difficult situation worse by running away from home after overhearing their latest blazing argument. With the police unwilling to allocate any of their already stretched resources to assisting with the search for Alyosha, Boris and Zhenya are forced to turn to a motivated group of local volunteers for help.
