After an arduous, perilous trek across western Africa and the Mediterranean Sea, Burkinabé best friends Ayiva (Koudous Seihon) and Abas (Alassane Sy) reach Italy with the hope of starting new lives. When the refugees find only low-paying farm work and are forced to live in squalid conditions alongside other immigrants, resentment starts to take hold, culminating in a violent outburst that will test their friendship, in filmmaker Jonas Carpignano’s compelling debut feature. 110 min.
