Japanese anime feature directed and co-written by Satoshi Kon. Two documentary film-makers approach renowned actress Chiyoko Fujiwara (voice of Miyoko Shoji, Mami Koyama, Fumiko Orikasa) to commemorate the closing of the prestigious film studio where she made most of her movies. As the reclusive Chiyoko opens up about her life story the film becomes a surreal re-imagining of her life and career.
