Stanley Donen directs this affectionate spoof of the double-feature musical comedies of the 1930s. Divided into two segments, it even boasts a halfway interval featuring 'trailers' for forthcoming attractions. The first segment, 'Dynamite Hands', stars Harry Hamlin as Joey Popchik, a young boxer on his way to the top. George C. Scott, Red Buttons, Kathleen Beller and Ann Reinking co-star. The second segment, a musical entitled 'Baxter's Beauties of 1933', also features George C. Scott, this time as egomaniacal Broadway director Spats Baxter. Barry Bostwick, Rebecca York and Trish Van Devere co-star.
