Brady Hartsfield remains hospitalized in a vegetative state after his try at perpetrating a second mass murder was circumvented. Retired detective Hodges, trying to move past that by opening a private agency with Holly Gibney, is drawn back to the case when strange things start adversely affecting hospital staff tending to Hartsfield.
