When Lisa Gosting (Borchers) bumps into her former husband who had abandoned her years before, she tries to piece together what went wrong. American Dr. Michael Parker (Hudson) met German-born nightclub performer-turned-nurse Lisa while they were both serving as medics during the war. Immediately falling in love, they married and had a baby. After an argument, Michael walked out on his wife, taking with him their baby girl. Meeting now, eight years later, will they be able to repair their relationship?
