Once Upon A Time In China Trilogy (UK-import)
Classic Hong Kong martial arts trilogy directed by Tsui Hark and starring Jet Li. In 'Once Upon a Time in China' (1991), folk hero Wong Fei Hung (Li) takes a stance against the imperial forces who have invaded China. When his Aunt Yee (Rosamund Kwan) returns from America, Wong must use his fighting skills to protect her as fierce battles between local and foreign forces intensify. In 'Once Upon a Time in China II' (1992) Wong faces the White Lotus Society, who are carrying out a host of attacks on anyone who is influenced by Western culture. He also encounters revolutionary Sun Yat-Sen (Zhang Tielin), who is trying to establish a Chinese Republic and Wong offers to protect him. Finally, in 'Once Upon a Time in China III' (1992) a competition is staged in Beijing to showcase Chinese martial arts in an attempt to restore national pride. However, an assassination plot threatens national security and Wong must uncover the treachery in order to secure China's future.
