Walter Felsenstein, founder of the Komische Oper in Berlin and widely considered to be one of the greatest creative theatre directors of the twentieth century, directs this opera film of Verdi's Otello. Kurt Masur directs the Orchestra and Chorus of the Komische Oper Berlin; soloists include Hanns Nocker, Christa Noack, Vladimir Bauer and Hanna Schmoock.
