Documentary telling the story of Russia's defence against the German invasion of the Second World War. Disregarding the Ribbentrop-Molotov Non-Aggression Pact signed by Germany and the USSR on 23rd August 1939, Hitler launched Operation Barbarossa in June 1941, intending to invade and conquer the USSR and unite German and Japanese forces against the Allies. Stalin mobilised every man, woman and child in the land to defend their country and this is their story.
