A tough investigator (Sean Connery) is posted to a mining base on Jupiter's third moon, Io, to solve what appears to be a rash of suicides. However, a black market drug-dealing gang (tacitly sanctioned by the authorities) is responsible, and he awaits their hired killers. A sci-fi version of `High Noon'.
