Alun Armstrong and Jean Heywood star in this television drama written by Willy Russell. When two educators with very different approaches to teaching - Mr Briggs (Armstrong) is a strict disciplinarian and Mrs Kay (Heywood) is compassionate and kind - are assigned to a school trip, they take a group of teenagers from their inner-city comprehensive on an adventure to Conwy Castle in Wales. Along the way the children find every excuse to make the teachers' lives difficult, but will they be able to put their heads together to keep them safe and, at the same time, give them an experience they will never forget?
