Pozzi Catherine Catherine Pozzi:Die Sechs Gedichte/Les Six Poemes/The Six Poems (3882438215)
At the end of her life, poet Catherine Pozzi thought only six of her poems worthy of being immortalized in print. 'I would like them to be edited as a booklet,' she wrote in 1934. 'Sappho too has survived time with only] a few verses.' Though the beloved French poet died just a few days later, her chosen poems were eventually published, over 40 years ago, in a small-run booklet now extremely rare and long out of print. These six poems,
Ave, Vale, Scopolamine, Nova, Maya, and
Nyx, which no anthology of French poetry ever overlooks, are expressive of a timeless and painful spirituality, the true essence of Pozzi's lyrical work. Here they are, made available once again, and accompanied, for the first time, by German and English translations of the original French.
