Basil Dean directs this musical comedy co-written by J.B. Priestley and starring Gracie Fields. Lancashire millworker Gracie Platt (Fields) is left unemployed following the closure of the textile mill where she works. As she heads to Blackpool for the summer, taking a series of temporary jobs, Gracie meets businessman Sir William Upton (Lawrence Grossmith) and attempts to persuade him to invest in the struggling mill back home. Will Gracie's charm be enough to convince Upton to save the mill?
