Spencer Tracy and George Cooper star in this comedy co-produced by Howard Hughes and A. Edward Sutherland. When friends Wilkie (Tracy) and Mitchell (Cooper) get drafted in to the US Army, their first duty is to shovel manure at the base. As they attempt to desert, they fail to think through their plan as they end up on a ship transporting Air Corps pilots to France. While they try to make the best of a bad situation, they accidentally destroy a German munitions plant and are hailed as war heroes. The cast also includes Ann Dvorak, Billy Bevan and Yola d'Avril.
