Leif Strand is a musician, composer and arranger. He was born in Bengtsfors in 1942 and began music studies in 1960 at the Royal College of Music in Sweden. For example He went for five years in the clarinet class and three years in the conductor class. Leif Strand's chamber choir was started in 1965 and he then started collaborations with Jan Johansson, Georg Riedel, Arne Domnérus, Göran Fristorp, Janne Schaffer Björn J: son Lindh and several other musicians. He has published some 30 discs as composer, arranger and choral conductor. Leif Strand was awarded the Swedish State Lifetime Artist Scholarship in 1994 and in 2002 he received the Gothenburg Culture Award. He settled in Bovallstrand in 1995 and in 1997 he started Leif Strand's women's choir. This is the first recording ever of his Requiem, which expresses faith in resurrection and life after this.
