Tel Aviv (Isreal Broadcast 1995)
SUPERB BROADCAST SHOW FROM ISRAEL S SECOND CITY In 1993, Bruce Dickinson left Iron Maiden to further pursue his solo career, but he agreed to remain for a farewell tour and two live albums. He played his final show with Iron Maiden on 28 August 1993, which was filmed, and broadcast by the BBC, and released on video under the name Raising Hell. In 1994, the band listened to hundreds of tapes sent in by vocalists before convincing Blaze Bayley, formerly of the band Wolfsbane, to audition for them. Bayley had a different vocal style from his predecessor, and inevitably he received a mixed reception among fans. After a two-year hiatus, Iron Maiden returned in 1995 and released their next studio album, The X Factor, which went on to win Album of the Year awards in a number of European Territories. The band toured for the rest of 95 and through 96, playing for the first time in Israel and South Africa. Maiden s concert in Tel Aviv, at the city s Cinerama complex on 30th September 95 was hailed as one of the best dates on the tour, and was recorded for live broadcast across local TV and radio. But so far, this superb show has remained unavailable on disc of any type. This all changes now however, as this superb new CD contains the band s entire concert from Israel s second city in 1995. A delight for fans of the group and a fine example of how Iron Maiden sounded early in their tenure with the new kid in town as vocalist. 1. Man On The Edge 4:06 2. Wrathchild 2:53 3.
